Dragon’s Blood comes from the Brand terroir, which means “Land of Fire.” Legend has it that the sun battled a dragon. The dragon was defeated and forced to retreat to a dark cavern beneath the Brand, thus explaining the characteristic heat of the soil in this terroir. The Brand terroir benefits from exceptional sunshine. Facing south, this very hot and relatively sheltered terroir is remarkably early-ripening. Produced only in the best years, Dragon’s Blood is a Pinot Noir that benefits from patient aging of 20 months in oak barrels. This wine, with its delicate vanilla notes and silky texture, will reach its peak in just a few years. It is already delicious today and will grace any fine table!

Aromatic nose with notes of red fruits: crushed strawberries, cherries, and vanilla. After aeration, aromas of cinnamon and vanilla emerge. A lovely attack with a velvety texture and freshness. Long and refined on the palate. Delicacy is its defining characteristic. Tannins are present at the finish, with a very pleasant aftertaste.
Pinot Noir Rouge, with its beautiful dark color and firm tannins, pairs well with red meats and game. Try it with bison or ostrich steaks, venison fillet with cranberry sauce, or duck breast with morello cherries.
